My services include proofreading and grammar-checking of all academic,
literary and business material. If it involves words, I can probably
help!
There are two ways to submit your documents for proofreading :-
- By e-mail - send your document
as a virus-scanned e-mail attachment (in MS Word or Rich
Text format only, please) to enquiries@theworddoctor.co.uk
Please include, in the main body of the e-mail, your full name,
e-mail address and telephone number, and let me know if you have
an urgent deadline. I will then proofread your work and carry
out any necessary editing electronically using the 'track changes'
function of Word, before returning it to you by e-mail. This method
is recommended for two reasons; your work is returned faster (usually
within 48 hours) and you do not have to type in all the changes
yourself.
- By post
- please contact
me for my postal address. Double-space your work to allow
room for comments, and include your full name, return postal address,
e-mail address and telephone number. Allow three days for postal
delivery. It is essential that you keep a copy of your
work, in case it is lost in the post.
As soon as I receive your document, I will carry out a word-count
and e-mail you to let you know the total price for proofreading
and editing it. This is not a quote or an estimate, and I guarantee
that it will not go up, even if very heavy editing is required.
Documents 10,000 words or under
- I will return e-mailed documents within three days of receipt,
and posted documents within five days. If you need your work checked
urgently, please e-mail enquiries@theworddoctor.co.uk
or telephone (029) 20402566 to arrange premium 24-hour service (Next-day
service is only available for documents received before 6pm).
Documents over 10,000 words, Ph.D. theses
and other long works - Please
contact me to
discuss arrangements. Discounts are available for business documents
over 50,000 words or academic documents over 10,000 words.
Payment - By submitting your
document for proofreading, you are agreeing to pay the sum of £7.50
per thousand words or part thereof, by PayPal, cheque or postal
order, within three working days of your documents being returned.
Details of how to pay will be sent to you as soon as I receive your
work, but you are not expected to pay until after you have
received your corrected work and verified that you are satisfied.
